BBIO SPI1 & HDMI

I cannot figure out why it is required to disable the HDMI for SPI 1 to work. None of the SPI1 pins are listed as being used for HDMI. The only thing I can find in the SRM is that P9_25 has the ~25 MHz clock for the HDMI audio but, otherwise, all of the HDMI/LCD functionality is on P8. What am I missing here?

The HDMI virtual cape uses P9.29, which is the SPI1.DO pin:
