Beaglebone Black Sleep Mode

Post by KirkAtWork »

HI,
I just received a new Beaglebone Black. Version shows:
Linux version 3.8.13-bone47 (root@imx6q-wandboard-2gb-0) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Debian 4.6.3-14) )

Is there a command or a programmatic way to place the Beaglebone in a low power sleep mode?

Thanks,
Kirk

I don't know of a sleep mode for the BBB, but I think it was a topic under discussion.

Your best bet is to check over in the BBB Forums and see what the current state of that is:

Thanks for your feedback on this.
It turns lots of info but very confusing so far.
I'm new to the BBB so I'll keep digging and let everyone know what I come up with.

Texas Instruments is good for such hardware questions.

TI link: http://e2e.ti.com/support/arm/sitara_ar ... 53/1318022

Summary:
o echo mem > /sys/power/state
o Power down HDMI and LAN. I'm not sure how. Unplug cables, maybe???
