crazy readings measuring temperature with a Beaglebone Black

Post by jstoner »

I am doing this tutorial:

https://learn.adafruit.com/measuring-te ... k?view=all

I'm confident that I have all the wires and the sensor plugged in right. I'm running Debian Wheezy, coz I'm working towards a production configuration and Debian stable is trusted, but the libraries seem to install OK. I've triple checked everything I can think to check, but I am getting crazy readings:
[ jstoner@beaglebone:~ ]
0s $> sudo python temp.py
[sudo] password for jstoner:
mv=972 C=47 F=116
mv=775 C=27 F=81
mv=1737 C=123 F=254
mv=1723 C=122 F=252
mv=581 C=8 F=46
mv=897 C=39 F=103
mv=1798 C=129 F=265
mv=1539 C=103 F=219
mv=595 C=9 F=49
mv=1077 C=57 F=135
It should be in the F=70 neighborhood. Any suggestions?

Post a photo of your hardware and connections and we'll take a look.
