I have a new BBB running up to date Debian Wheezy 7 fresh from the factory. I am trying to run the simple Adafruit UART example found here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/setting-up-i ... black/uart
On this simple example code:
import Adafruit_BBIO.UART as UART
import serial
UART.setup("UART1")
ser = serial.Serial(port = "/dev/ttyO1", baudrate=9600)
I get the error that /dev/tty01 does not exist. If I ls /dev,
I find a tty0 and tty1 but nothing similar to the table referenced in link above.
Has something changed since this tutorial was published? Is there any simple way to get UART running on the BBB?
Thanks!

Re: Simple UART Example Not Working
Try replacing '/dev/tty01' with '/dev/tty1'. There may have been a recent change in the naming convention for those devices.

Re: Simple UART Example Not Working
Thank you for your response.
Come to find out, it is ttyO1, Where O is uppercase letter O, NOT zero.
The Adafruit example works with ttyO1 on the pins indicated.
