Beaglebone Black lost usb connection

Post by GSAIDAH »

Good morning,
I am using a beaglebone black for few months and suddenly today I lost the usb connection to it. I can still connect thru my wireless connection, but not thru the usb port.
The PC (windows 10) recognize it when I plug it in, but I cannot connect to 192.168.7.2 any more.
Any idea of what I need to look at?
Thank you

Try reinstalling the device driver that allows the BBB to make a TCP/IP connection through the USB cable.

Thank you for your response.
Do you mean the computer device driver?
It is working since I used another bbb and I can connect to it.

I tested the faulty bbb and it is working fine except connecting to the computer via usb cable. It is setup to use wifi and everything seems to be working fine.

When I plug in another bbb, the usb comnection works.

Is it possible that the faulty bbb has the ip address of 192.168.7.2 changed somehow?
Thank you

Hello,
I found out that the bbb is resetting itself every few seconds, not enough time to connect.
I am going to reflash it and see if it works.

George,

I'm experiencing the same thing. I am seeing the BBB show up as a disk drive, but I cannot contact via http or putty. I tried booting off of an SD image, and the same problem (only in this case I have not WiFi connection). I have tried reloading the drivers. Any help would be appreciated.
