CF problem

Post by ryder1650 »

So my minty works.

However, when I remove the CF card and put it into my reader it says this card is not formatted, press yes to format etc, so when I press yes the format goes to 99% and then I get an error that says unable to format. This happened with 2 of my CF cards...

lol, turns out a pin was bent on my card reader...is there any way to make this thing output at a higher volume?

I think there are 4 resistors and 4 capacitors coming off the DAC that make up an amplification stage. Playing around with these values will probably help. What values are you using in there now?
These are mine:
C14, C15, C36, C40 = 33uF
R4, R5 = 10 KOhm
R6, R7 = 10 Ohm
My volume is loud enough for me, but it's bass heavy and missing the highs. Or for your next project you can make a CMoy headphone amplifier (with matching altoids tin).

I actually used 150uf for all of those caps you listed (that is what it said in eagle). It probably just made the bass even higher

yeah. those are the output filters. the larger the serial-cap the more bass (and more volume as well)
you can move the high and low cutoffs by changing those capacitors and resistors. i tried a bunch of different values to match what i liked.

Can you tell us what combinations would give the loudest output?
