help with purchase choice for project
Hi, Not sure if this is a good place to ask these questions? I have been looking to buy a ras PI and accessories but am trying to decide on what I require for a proposed personal project I wish to try and develop. Outline; I want to data log a off grid solar panel battery set up and display on a small screen, including developing how the screen looks and displays the data. I guess I am not after technical advise rather advise on a component list to get started as a first purchase. I fully expect to have to add purchases as my project develops and I learn more. I have looked to buy the PI starter kit, breakout board, and a small color screen which is a couple of inches diagonal so far among other items which I have seen in some posts. This is my first post here so I will simply see if I get a response and go from there. Thanks Wayne.

Re: help with purchase choice for project
If all you want to do is log data and display it on a small screen, you don't really need a Raspberry Pi. An Arduino is well suited to a task like that, and unless you're already well-versed in linux, it will be much easier to work with.
