If a guy could get a t-cobbler with a female header, would it fit to plug in directly onto the pi's gpio pins? I think that would be nice, compact way to have soldered connections to controls for a project I'm making.

yes, exactly. I don't know why that didn't show up when I searched. It looks to be tall enough that mated to a t-cobbler, it would clear the other tall things on the board. Could adafruit be persuaded to offer such a kit?
