PiTFT Mini Kit Problems
Hello, I am Anthony Balistreri and am somewhat angered at the moment. There is no support number anywhere, and I can't find a person to help me. I just ordered the 2.8 inch LCD touchscreen tft and got it today. As soon as it opened I was sad to see the screen itself was disconnected from the board. Is this suppose to be like this? Because in your video of it, the actual screen was locked in place and connected to the board. Is mine broken? And if its not broken, can I simply glue it down or return it? I need help please immediately.

Is the flex cable still attached to the board? Can you post a picture showing the damage?

The flex cable IS attached still. I can't post a picture because it is apparently too big. WHat I don't understand is, is the screen suppose to be detached like that? The flex cable IS still connecting the too, but the screen does not seem to be glued down to the plastic board.

Re: PiTFT Mini Kit Problems
I it is supposed to be like this, it allowed me to solder in the connectors with the screen well out of harms way. And when done it was easy to peal of the backing to the sticky pads on the back of the display and mount it so it is not touching my soldering. If it were attached I think it would have been very hard to do.

The howto clearly shows the display is not stuck to the board.
:)
Hope you get it working.

Re: PiTFT Mini Kit Problems
RichardUK is correct. The display is held on by double-stick tape. It should re-stick in the same way, but if it doesn't stick well, use another couple of pieces of double-stick tape to hold it.
