I want to mod my cupcade so I can leave it plugged in, but be able to switch it on and off. I was thinking about making a small usb cable and mounting it to the case and placing a switch that would toggle the power. Was planning on using this: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1825 as well as the female version. Is this ok, and would I would I only need to connect pins 1 & 5?
Also, any thoughts of adding a gameboy emulator to the cupcade software?

Re: Always plugged in cupcade mod
This could work, as long as you:
1. Shut down (hold both front buttons + wait) before switching it off.
2. Use decently stout wire (maybe 22 AWG) and have good solder connections; Pis are especially picky about getting enough current.
Or this might do the trick:

There are no specific plans for additional emulators at the moment...but the game menu was written to allow for this possibility in the future. Part of the trick is finding emulators that work with the PiTFT; most are using OpenGL and aren't happy w/the PiTFT.
