Have fun with that! Love to see what you come up with.
Also...if you've noticed that little "bite" above the speaker...this is to allow running wires up to the marquee, which is coincidentally a tad larger than the Medium White LED Backlight Module.

Re: Cupcade Cabinet Art Template
How would I connect the White LED Backlight Module to the Pi if I wanted to add it to the marquee on my cupcade?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Cupcade Cabinet Art Template
The backlight is basically an LED, so you'd just connect it to a 5v pin with a 100 ohm resistor.

Re: Cupcade Cabinet Art Template
If all the 5v pins are taken up on the pi, what is the best solution to connect this led and resistor?
Thanks : )

Post a photo showing your hardware and we'll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.

Re: Cupcade Cabinet Art Template
For a standard Cupcade, it will probably be easiest to splice another wire into the VCC and GND jumpers between the interface board and the joystick.
You can do it with solder and heat-shrink tubing, or you can use these: https://www.adafruit.com/products/1494

Would I still need a 100 ohm resistor?

Yes, you'll want one of those too. You can put it inline with one of the wires to save space.

Re: Cupcade Cabinet Art Template
Which 100 ohm resistor will work best for the marquee on my cupcake hooked up to White LED Backlight module and 5v pin?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi Adafruities!
I finished my Cupcade and I wanted to thank you all for your input. It was a nice little project and I learned a few things along the way. Mine is not as fancy as Bel_Z_Bub's clear cabinet arcade. But I'm quite happy with it. Thanks dhell for posting your Pac-man artwork, I printed it on vinyl decal paper and it worked like a charm. I corrected my gpio power issue by purchasing one of these https://www.piborg.org/triborg I was then able to light up my marquee with one of these https://www.adafruit.com/products/1622 and add a couple of leds inside the cupcade. If I had to change anything, I would probably make a clear marquee piece to fit behind the marquee decal so that it wouldn't look all yellow. Adafruit Can we start a Post to see completed Cupcades? I'd be interested to see other Cupcade tweaks, thanks
