Hi there,
I recently purchase the PiTFT touchscreen for my raspberry pi because i would like to run a GUI made with pygame on it. So i install on a new SD card your modified version of raspian, boot and get to the desktop ( at this point, evrything seems to be OK ). But when i try to run my python script with terminal, nothing happen and terminal is blocked ( cannot enter any command like if the program was running ).
So I think my program is launched but cannot see it on the small PITFT screen. To check this, I told myself that I could use my TV as a bigger display using the commande ( see in PITFT F.A.Q ) FRAMEBUFFER=/dev/fb0 startx
Problem is when i type this ( without the "startx" ) in "terminal", i get an error : "GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: An authentication agent already exists for the given subject."
So if anybody have a idea about how to solve this, let me know ;)
PS: Sorry for my english ( i'm french ) ;)

Re: PiTFT HDMI problem
I would also like to know if a classic version of Raspbian works with the touch screen or is that a modified version is necessary ?

Re: PiTFT HDMI problem
Or is there a way to bring my pygame GUI in fullscreen on the PITFT ?
Another question : Is bluetooth compatible with PITFT mofified kernel ? ( Because i've got lot of troubles getting this running )

Try adding an ampersand after the 'startx' command:retrobotic wrote:But when i try to run my python script with terminal, nothing happen and terminal is blocked ( cannot enter any command like if the program was running.
Code: Select all
FRAMEBUFFER=/dev/fb0 startx &
That happens when you try to run X sessions on both the PiTFT and the HDMI display.retrobotic wrote:when i type this ( without the "startx" ) in "terminal", i get an error : "GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: An authentication agent already exists for the given subject."
LXDE, the package that handles the desktop interface, has an option that controls access to things like the GPIO pins. Pull up the Preferences -> Desktop Session Settings pane and uncheck "PolicyKit AuthenticationAgent".
The standard version of Raspbian doesn't know how to talk to the PiTFT. You need a modified version.retrobotic wrote:I would also like to know if a classic version of Raspbian works with the touch screen or is that a modified version is necessary ?
It depends on the Bluetooth dongle you use. The kernel has drivers for some kinds of Bluetooth devices, but not for others. If you have a dongle that isn't supported, you might need to install a new driver. That might cause a conflict with the PiTFT kernel.retrobotic wrote:Is bluetooth compatible with PITFT mofified kernel ? ( Because i've got lot of troubles getting this running )

Thanks for the reply ;)
"Try adding an ampersand after the 'startx' command:"
I just tried and it doesn't work better :
" Pull up the Preferences -> Desktop Session Settings pane and uncheck "PolicyKit AuthenticationAgent"."
Now, wen i enter the command :
Nothing happen :/
Just another little question : What is the kernel inside the "ready to burn" image of Rasbpian ? ( Need to know because rfcomm bluetooth communication don't work of recent kernel )

Re: PiTFT HDMI problem
All that command does is tell the OS to set the value of "$FRAMEBUFFER" to "/dev/fb0". You need:retrobotic wrote:Now, wen i enter the command :Code: Select all
