Drivers or PITFT is bad?

Post by solocondeus »

Hello need a little help, I bought a PiTFT Mini Kit - 320x240 2.8" not to long ago, I just barely got the time to install it. The touch screen does not work and the screen has a 1/4 inch line that is black, or not working. I tried to re install it, tried it all by itself on a new SD. Nothing changed.

Difficult to see in the picture, but some of your solders look very marginal. I suspect that's what is wrong with the touch. In a solid joint, the solder flows completely over the pad and up the pin, like this:

Retouch the solders that don't look like this and see if that helps

I took your advise and looked at my soldering. it's not the best I must admit. Yet the connections llok solid and I don't see any possible shorts either.

I even tried with a cable, but it's still the same.

The black band to the left is the normal appearance. If the touch doesn't work, we can replace the display.
Please email [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement
