pitft white rectangle on left half of screen

I am running the adafruit version of rasbian for the pitft and get a white rectangle on the left half of the screen.Any applications that are opened
get covered by this when dragged to the left.Any ideas?

Could you post a photo of that please? 800x600 images usually work best.

I reflashed the sd card with the latest version,problem has disappeared
