PiTFT installation error: no hotplug events

Post by Iceclaw »

Hi,
I recently purchased a Model B+ pi and a PiTFT (the fully assembled resistive model) and have been desperately trying to get it to work. I am up to the first reboot in the installation (after gathering and compiling the .deb files and removing the framebuffer) But, every time I boot the Pi I get no hot plug events. Meaning I can't type on my keyboard or even SSH into the system to look at logs and such. I have no idea where to start to look to fix these problems. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Formatting.

Try using the easy-install version for the B+ linked from this page in the tutorial:

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... sy-install

There are so many ways for kernel modifications to go wonky that it's easier to try a known-good baseline.

Okay, I'm going to use a fresh debian image and run the install script. Should I update the image before running the script?

I'd suggest using the preconfigured image linked from the tutorial, as mentioned above.

Once you've written that to the SD card, do an update right after finishing raspi-config.
