PiTFT Capacitive Touchscreen

Post by JDMGOLF123 »

Hello, I received PID: 1983 capacitive touchscreen yesterday and eagerly attempted to set it up with my raspberry pi B+ today. After soldering to the board, I noticed a hairline crack in the lower corner when I removed the protective layer, which is unfortunate but I could deal with it. After loading the micro SD card with the easy install, I booted up and just got a white screen. I then started over by formatting the sd, loaded NOOBS, and then ran the DIY installer script but I got the same result, just a white back lit screen. I don't know if it is damaged or if I'm doing something wrong.

Please post clear pictures of both sides of the display, showing the crack and also showing the ribbon cable and connector.

The crack is clearly physical damage to the display.

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a replacement PiTFT.
