One of our customer (we are Adafruit Distributor) did get a strange issue with the HDMI 5" Touch screen used on a raspberry Pi 2.
It worked fine for several hour and then goes artefactwhite... like if the HDMI signal didn't properly reach the screen (please see the "Photo5.jpg" attached picture).
The Pi 2 + HDMI cable has been wired to a monitor and the PI is working fine.
Other PI's does not display anything on the HDMI 5" Touch screen.
At this stage, the issue seems concentrated on the screen himself.
The sensitive part of HDMI 5" Touch screen does still work properly... but the screen display (or not display) proper content.
The /boot/config.txt content is
disable_overscan=1
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt 800 480 60 6 0 0 0
hdmi_drive=2
gpu_mem=128
We did also tried a minimal config.txt (here under) which produce the result on the "Photo7.jpg"
disable_overscan=0
gpu_mem=128
Any suggestion?

Re: HDMI 5" Touch screen getting stuck after some hour of wo
To check the screen, have the user connect it to some other HDMI source.
If it works from that source, we'll know it's a signal problem. If it doesn't work with the other source, we'll have to look at hardware problems.

Hi,
It has been tester with other Pi.
And then with DELL ( Latitude E5540 ). The screen is properly detected with the right résolution... but the screen still display this strange white content.
We also received a picture from the backpack so you can inspect the hardware part.
Everything seems to look right.
Any idea?

Try reseating the flex cable in its connector.
Pull the tabs at the ends of the connector out to release the cable, push the cable in as far as it will go, then press the tabs back.

Hi,
The Flex cable has been reseat. The operation was done properly.
Unfortunately, the screen still displays the same strange scrapy white content.
Is it dead?

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread. The folks there will arrange a replacement and return shipping for the screen you have now.
