Raspberry Pi Camera Module defect?

Dear sir/madam,

On May 7 I ordered a bunch of stuff from the adafruit website, I ordered: 2x wifi module, 2x thermal printer, and 2x camera module.

My order number is: Order 779856

Before opening the package I made sure to ground myself, and placed the camera module in the raspberry pi, but it didnt work. I tried the trouble shooting at the website, looked at forums online, but to no avail.

I grounded myself at another spot, and tried the second camera, with the same issue. Neither of them work.

I'm not sure what exactly went wrong, but is there any way this could be fixed?

Let's start with the basics: did you enable the camera through raspi-config?

Yes I did

Okay, try re-seating the flex cable in its connector on the Pi Camera PCB, and also disconnect/reconnect the fine-pitch connector between the camera and the PCB. It's the little kapton tab coming off the black sensor module.

Also, could you post a photo showing the Pi Cam connected to the RasPi please?
