PiTFT/retropie help
This is my first time posting so I hope I posted in the right section. Also nice to meet you all and thanks for your time. So I've tried to follow this tutorial. I got all the way to the end of the "PiTFT Setup" portion. When I reboot after following the directions I get a blank white screen on the PiTFT and a blank purple screen on my monitor.

Re: PiTFT/retropie help
I am in a similar spot as you tdogg though upon reboot I continue to see the console and emulationstation on my TV but it has been scaled down to 320x200. The PiTFT remains all white. I am using the 2.8r with the Raspberry PI 2B running retropie 2.6.

Re: PiTFT/retropie help
Hi guys I am here also, I noticed that when editing the /boot/config.txt file there is no space for the hdmi_cvt line. But I just put it in and had nothing also either with or without it. And I get the white screen on my pitft screen after reboot. Doesn't seem like it is sending the signal to run off the screen correctly. Some people have said the problem might be in the fbcp section because that's where it send the signal to the screen (I have no clue because I'm not that educated in programming but might start there. Sorry kind of being useless here but if you get a good answer I want to be one of the first to know also.
EDIT: It also occurred to me that at the end when it asks if you wanna display the console on the PiTFT [y/n] maybe try hitting yes. I don't have time till later tonight to try this but if either of you do and it works please let me know, no idea if it will actually work but a thought.

I didn't do this from a fresh build but re-ran the configuration choosing Yes for the console display and had no change.lildil37 wrote:EDIT: It also occurred to me that at the end when it asks if you wanna display the console on the PiTFT [y/n] maybe try hitting yes. Re: PiTFT/retropie help
I ran through the complete solution from reddit and the PiTFT remains all white. I loaded a fresh raspian and WAS able to get the display to work so that gives me some relief that its not defective. I will try again later in the week, perhaps I missed a step.
Thanks for sharing your findings.
