RGB Stickman Suit

by bithead942 on Wed Sep 25, 2013 11:47 pm

I wanted to share my Halloween costume an RGB Stickman Suit. My family liked it so much, they insisted that I build one for each of them, so I have 4 identical costumes now. It features a bunch of stuff I got from Adafruit including:

- RGB LED Flexi-strips (60 per meter)
- Touch Wheel controller for analog RGB LED strips
- Solderless Analog RGB LED Strip Clip
- 8x8 LED matrix with I2C backpack

This costume came together in pieces with the body first, and the headband second (after getting inspiration from Phil Burgess). I've still got time before Halloween, so this may continue to evolve.

A quick thank you to Becky Stern  for answering my question about affixing the RGB LED Flexi-strips to cotton on her 'Wearable Wednesdays' show. I did end up using some thread to tack down the ends of each strip and used E6000 (Becky's favorite adhesive) to re-enforce the 3M adhesive that comes with the strip.
