i'm stymied. i have 2 trinkets and a flora - am just trying to get them up and running. i installed codebender on a windows 8 machine. it's new. it works great with an Uno, and I got the trinkets to connect, but the FLORA won't cooperate.
i always get the windows message that the usb device isn't recognized. sometimes in codebender it will see the com port for a few seconds, but never long enough to do anything.
thoughts on how to troubleshoot?
thanks!

Do the LEDs on the Flora do anything? Does the red LED start to pulse when you press reset?
Have you tried a different USB cable?

Re: FLORA - CAN'T CONNECT
thanks.
the green light comes on.
the red light blinks when I hit reset
the USB cable works with my Pixy (http://charmedlabs.com/default/?page_id=211)
whenever I plug it in, i get the "USB Device not recognized" error from Windows

It sounds like the Flora is working. I'd try a different cable anyway - the one you have may be marginal.

Re: FLORA - CAN'T CONNECT
appreciate the suggestions everyone ... haven't solved this one, but am retiring for the hunt for now. I can get the trinket running fine, and an arduino, which seems like enough for the moment.
Codebender has been easy to use by the way - I find it preferable to the arduino IDE.
