Hello,
I have 2 Gemmas and a Flora going to Burning Man next week and I thought that it would be a good idea to put a conformal coating on them. I ordered a silicone based one:

However, I have never used a conformal coating before. I'm not sure how thick they go on and I wonder if I should expect to lose use of the reset button?
I was also thinking about using some silicone dielectric grease inside the usb and jst ports. Am I overkilling this? I'd heard that playa dust is mildly conductive and might mess stuff up.
thanks,
g

That's thin stuff - it's like paint. It's not like potting the boards in thick goo. Just thin it, paint it on and let it dry.
I guess I would expect grease to attract dust. I think you're overkilling.

thanks! so i'll hit the boards with a thin layer of coating, will expect the reset buttons to work still since the silicone coating seems flexible, and will forget about using grease.
