Post by ftm_h »

Hello
My project is similar to this https://learn.adafruit.com/led-ampli-tie
& I bought "conductive thread ribbon" which in the video they said that i can use it as a substitute to the ribbon wire that they used..
I should connect three pins of the Microphone to the flora with that ribbon..

You mean this product, right?

I bought it too and also wonder how to use it. I looked more closely at the product description page on Adafruit, and I see there are two ways to connect it. You can use one or more alligator clips. (I'm not sure what size.) Or, you can use this flat flexible connector from Digi-Key:

But it looks like this part is out of stock at Digi-Key.

Both the video and the step by step tutorial do not show how to connect the ribbon to the amplifier. I am planning to use colored wires myself.

Thanks

Bob

Thanks of the Comment..
I guess I'm going to use the colored wire, too..
But is there a specific wire that I should use it for this project.. because I've see some wires before that are not silver from the inside ( they're kind of reddish) Unlike what they used in the video!!

See what she says in the post, and look at the link she provides for the black colored conductive ribbon. I still think wires are better, but that is what Becky did in the project.

As to your question...I don't think you need any special kind of wire, it just has to be thin enough and flexible enough for you to work with, and it has to give you a great connection. You don't need anything unusual like unshielded twisted pair wire (UTP).
