Neopixel cosmetic turtle necklace

Post by stevemagicianful »

Hello,

I want to make the pendent which is featured in the link, and the instructions say to use a pendent which is 1.5" by 2". The pendent that I am using is 2 2/8"x1 4/8". Is this okay to use for the project?

Yes. A slightly larger pendant is OK.

Thankyou. Also... how much current does the circuit take out of the Lipo battery?

I don't know if anyone has measured it. but looking at the circuit and the code, I'd expect it to be about 50mA on average, so you would get something like 3 hours of run-time with the 150mAh cell.

Also, I have noticed that in the materials, you say to use a 3v Pro Trinket, but in the pictures for the build, you have used a 5v Pro trinket. Is this a concern?

99.9% of the 5v trinkets will run OK using a 3.7v LiPo source. 3.3v is preferred, but the 5v will probably work just fine.

Hello.

I have just finished making the circuit that will go in the pendent. However, the circuit won't switch off. I have noticed that on the power switch terminals, located on the PCB, that they are joined together. How do you break the track connecting the two solder pads safely?

A X-Acto knife works well for this. Make a couple perpendicular cuts across the copper and peel or scrape up the material in-between.
