5v Trinket Pro Power use in sleep mode

Post by dsurgi »

What is the Power consumption needed when the pro trinket 5v version is in sleep mode? and when in operation?

I am trying to determine battery life and capacity needed for new project.

Thanks

In operation, the current draw depends on what you're doing with it - what functional areas of the chip are enabled, what's connected to the output pins, etc. Assuming no external resistive loads besides the LED, the typical draw will be on the order of 20mA. In full sleep, the only thing really drawing power will be the LED, which I think draws around 4mA.

You can remove the power LED. I don't know what the consumption of the backpack is.

What would be the best way to test the power consumption of the backpack.

Measure the consumption of the trinket with and without the backpack connected, I suppose.
