SC2272 Decoder

Post by hjguitarplayer »

I am doing some testing with SC2272 Decoder modules and I've noticed that the silkscreen on the RO2A circuit board
may be wrong. D0, D1, D2 and D3 seem to be backwards. The 2272 Decoder data sheet shows that D0 is Pin 13 but yet
D0 on the RO2A circuit board is tied to pin 10 of the 2272 IC which is actually D3. When you press "A" on the wireless
encoder transmit key fob, D3 on the decoder actually goes high and not D0. I verified that when the "A" button is pressed
the D0 on the encoder goes high so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the wireless encoder.

Please advise whether or not I'm missing something here and/or don't understand the operation of the 2272 / 2262 decoder encoder
chip set.

Thanks

After doing some more looking at the RO2A receiver module I noticed that the D0 output pin on
the right angle pin header is connected to pin 10 of the decoder IC (PT2272-M4).
The datasheet for the PT2272 shows pin 10 of the IC to be D3, NOT D0.
This would, in my opinion explain why the output pins on the right angle header connector are wrong,
at least the silk screening.

I'd like for additional opinion on this if possible. This to me seems
unusual unless there is still something I'm missing or don't understand
about these decoder ICs.
