loss of volume with opened resonance

Hello,

first thank you so much for the X0xb0x and your very active community. i've bought a X0xb0x hand made and perfectly tunes/built. (x0xconcept, france)

As i can remember the original 303 have a "special" filter that avoid the loss of volume when the resonance is opened, but i'm not sure as i haven't seen any 303 since 1990 !

Here, i've a big loss of volume power (about 6dB) when the resonance is turned to wide open, i just want to know if it's normal (i can compensate that with a hard compression after the Xoxbox, but i would prefer not to use so much compression).

yes, the gain loss is part of the filter
unlike the moog ladder, this diode ladder filter needs more feedback to get into selfoscillation, and thus it loses more gain compared to the moog ladder
the 303/x0x does have a gain compensation internally, but it's not much

bcbox posted a solution for this, which was to replace a capacitor... but I don't recall which one/with what value

okay, thank you for the tip, sorry for the time i took to answer. Finally i find a solution using a soft settings in some cheap compressor (bluemax/presonus), it works cool and does not affect the sound that much.
