Hey!
Thanx for some great work! Although I have some difficulties. The port setting first said something like /dev/tty.bluetooth or something and after some fiddling it says <Err:FPF>.

Readme says: "Set the "Port" to the port name for your x0xb0x. This would be something that begins with "/dev/tty.usb" or similar." But how do I know what the port name of my x0xb0x is?

i guess you're on osx

if you see Err:FPF
simply do the following:
1) make sure the x0xb0x is plugged in the USB, and is running
2) if c0nb0x is running - close it
3) run c0nb0x

when you run c0nb0x - it scans the currently available serial ports (or usb devices on osx)
so if your x0x is connected - it'll get listed, otherwise - it won't

4) go to the settings, and press left/right to see what you got in the port list

if that doesn't work, you should simply check how the x0xb0x appears in your OS

on windows, you'll find it in the device manager "USB-Serial" or something like that, then inside the options there you'll see a drop-down box where you can see/set the port name (it's usually COM+number.. COM3 in my case)

on OSX i have no idea, there must be a way to see what usb/serial devices are currently available via some terminal command

once you get the name of the port - go to the settings in c0nb0x and hit enter on the port name, you will be able to type a name there
or edit the .cfg file, save it, and restart c0nb0x

I had some wierd behaviour, but now it works. Yeah, its osx. The port is called "/dev/tty.usbserial -00002014". I could see it under "about this mac" -> more info -> system report, but there was no port name. Not that I could see anyways. But as you say it scans for ports and it should be quite easy to guess if you dont have too many things connected. Thanx a bunch! Think i am going to try sokkos 2 now :)

Hi guys, I don't know what's happen. I'm onmac osx 10.6.8 and trying to upload MarOS 1.4.1
I'm using C0nb0x, setting the right port, Bootload mode etcc everything it's ok, C0nb0x goes thru the step all is ok.
But when I restart my x0xb0x the old firmware it's still here :/

Any tip?

PS: Probably something went wrong with my ATMEGA chip. I'm reading all the conversation on this post and I someone wrote something about bootloader... I don't know so much about this kind of thing, but if I buy a new chip what I should do to load the bootloader on it?

okay, let's test whether you have a bootloader or not

1. set the MODE selector to "BOOTLOAD"
2. switch the x0xb0x OFF
3. switch the x0xb0x ON
4. set the MODE selector to any other mode (like keyboard or random or pattern play)

if it "reacts" (changes the LEDs, plays patterns, responds normally) then probably there's no bootloader
if it doesn't react - the bootloader is probably there

it doesn't react, so if that's right bootloader should be ok :)

well then, the bootloader should work

try to upload the firmware again, watch carefully what c0nb0x says, if there are any errors or warnings
also ensure that you're not flashing the wrong .hex file (of the stock firmware or sokkos)

I'm on mac 0sx10.6.8, using C0nb0x v1.0

When I try to connect to x0xb0x in pattern sync out it say " Ping BAD" , Firmware Version.....

Port should be the right one, because it say "opening serial port" Success.
