faceplates

Post by troy »

I never saw on old faceplate.. My 102 looks about the same as the photos of the old
ones...

But when i first opened the kit, my first impression of the faceplate was simply "wow!".
It just looks really good.

x0x168 just arrived :)

Very well packed, Faceplate looks great.

I just checked everything against the BOM.. all present and correct.
(thanks to whoever gave me the idea to tape the components out onto paper..)

Now I just have to throw it together...

organize

Wow! some of you are really organized. I just started tearing into bags and soldering.. :)

We'll see who spends more time debugging.

I'm an EE and I solder boards for a living.. but the one thing I have learned about these kits is not to be cocky. I still follow the directions very carefully.. :)

hehe Troy :) The last time I did any soldering was a one semester course at Uni.. about 11 years ago. I'm just ultra paranoid about f***ing it up!

I'm going to take it pretty slow and do lots of testing.. I'm still saving for a meter though so it'll be a while before I start.

The truth is if my kit needs serious debugging i'm going to be in trouble so I'm doing everything I can to avoid that situation :)

I guess they changed the way they pack. I have #190 (arrived today) and I only had 3 seperate bags of parts and no papers included.

no, the bags and papers is a common organizational scheme. you'll see it in a few people's work logs around here.

here's mine, I'm being way too careful I know:
