A Faulty x0b0x

Post by epaecaps »

Hi,

Recently I bought the x0b0x DIY kit and put it together. When I first turned it on, only a faulty signal was coming out of the x0b0x. I started troubleshooting - discovered two mistakes (C45 and C47 were at the wrong position and R136 was not 100 ohms as it should have been, it was 10 ohms). Now I have made sure that all the passive components are positioned correctly and the values match. However when I turn it on the same faulty signal is coming from the phones output (constant rumble, noise).

Power supply seems to be working as it should, I have:
tested the 9VAC adaptor.
measured voltage across C1 (6.00 VDC)
tested the +12V supply (J4 - 11.86)
trimmed the potentiometer to 5.333V
measured the voltage on the mainboard (J4, VCO area), I had 12V and 5.333V as manual suggested at the points shown (page 33 manual)

This field is fairly new to me, which is why I am not certain how should I proceed from this point.. Perhaps someone has experienced a similar issue.. or has any suggestions on how to investigate the problem further..
Please let me know if I should clarify something.
