Technical question re vca section
Looking at the fab manual it seems that extra components (4 transistors) are required for the BA6110 but not required for the BA662, why is this? AFAIK the BA6110 is commonly used as a alternative to the 662, I thought the only difference was the pinout. What gives?

Does anyone have a link to the datasheet of the BA6110 SIP ? I've found it for the other version of the chip, but not this one...moogah wrote:The 6110 requires a different on/off signal than the 662 in the 303, thats all the transistors do.
I'd also be interested to see the 662 datasheet if someone has it...
Maybe this was posted elsewhere in these forums, but searching I didn't find it.
see if this works

i havent been able to locate a schematic for the ba662 except for the
block diagram given in the part listings in the 303 repair manual
the lm13700 is another good replacement for the ba662 as well
im not certain if the ba662 has the linearizing diodes
and the ba6110 uses a stiffer input current mirror which has
a two Vbe drop across it whereas the ba662 uses only one
and given the way the original 303 created its current source
the voltage it was driving into made a big difference
