Hi!
I just received my Minipro Programmer, and it looks like it can program ATMEGA162 without errors!
... But my x0xb0x still doesn't work : not a single LED lights up at startup...
I'm really confused.

Usually some of the LEDs should come up even with a dead CPU, as the HC594 shift register outputs came up in a (pseudo) random state. So if you don't have any lit LEDs there is most probably the supply missing.
(To clear the LEDs you have to clock in 40 zeros in the shift register and than generate a latch impulse - that does not happen randomly. To disable the LEDs the /OE pins of the 594 must go high - nothing that is happening by chance to a hardwired pin on all 5 chips.. )
