Time to stabile temp for waterproof DS18B20

Hello, I started working with the waterproof DS18B20 sold by adafruit and it takes several minutes for the temperature reading to stabilize. Is this typical? So if I have it stable at, say, 22C and then I immerse in warm water it might take 3-4 minutes to read the proper temp.

Sensor response time is limited by the thermal mass & resistance of the sensor & shroud. I haven't run any tests on the waterproof sensors yet, but since response time will be roughly proportional to the square of the cross-section, I would expect them to be significantly slower than a bare sensor.
