The micro USB end of my Samsung charger was severed in an unfortunate accident and I would like to fix it. I took off the jacket around the micro connector end to expose the solder pads and found that there are only 4 solder pads but five wires. I have soldered the four connections that I know are correct (power, ground, data- and data+) and the charger seems to be in working order. However I do not know what to do with the last wire, for now I have left it floating. I have seen some forums that say it should be soldered to ground, but they were looking for a different result. Please let me know if it is fine to leave the fifth wire floating or if it should be soldered to ground.
