Blink M Max M I2C LED code crash

Postby rj44319 » Fri May 04, 2012 12:01 pm

Hi,
I have a bewildering problem to solve. I have three of these LED's. I control them with a ATmega328P. The code I have works for a few seconds to a couple minutes. Then, the LED's(Blink M Max M) turn off. (like the led's stop getting commands) This is like the code on the Atmega328p stops functioning. (this is sample code from the company) I then unplug the led out of the bread board and plug it back in and all three LED's come back on. I can also reset the 328 and it will come back. I have added huge capacitors to the 5v power line and it still "crashes". Does anyone have suggestions?

Regards,

Rick

Do you have pull-up resistors on the I2C lines, or are you leaving them 'floating'?

I think that they are on Blink M LED's themselves. I will check there first.
I have had them running for a long time before w/o any issues. I might have had 2.2k pull ups tho before. I ran this code a couple of months ago.
