Simple 100 mA iPhone charger

Post by snilard »

I made super simple USB 100mA charger using linear 5V voltage regulator 78L05. It is powered by 7,4V Li-pol battery. But it doesn't work with my iPhone 1st gen. I found that I have to put some voltage on D+ and D- USB wires on minty boost site on ladyada.net. But what voltage shoult I use for 100 mA charging (or keeping alive)?

I don't recall the exact values, but I know the Adafruit team has reverse-engineered the Apple-sanctioned chargers to make the MintyBoost work. You might look in the build instructions there.
