Has anyone tried reading a Lateral Flow Test? I was thinking of using a Phototransistor but was searching for anyone who has tried this...
Would be interested in the setup people use. Any issues they ran into while doing this. Were the results reliable? Any other information you would want to share...
In English, a 'Lateral Flow Test', are those used for pregnancy and drug tests. They usually have one line that appears if a certain substance is present.

I don't know of anyone doing that, but would guess you'll need more than a phototransistor. Those only respond to absolute light levels, and have little or no selectivity.
You'd probably need to use a camera and blob recognition software.

In laboratory analytic equipment for similar tests, these are read with a linear CCD array (essentially a one-dimensional camera sensor) and some optics.
