Retrogaming console using raspberry pi

im using mame4all and pimame as emulators but I can not get my custom joystick to work with it, and help would be appreciated.

What are the electrical specs for your joystick?

the exact same ones that was used in the project, with the same GPIO configuration

If so, let's start by looking at the connections and taking a few sanity-check readings. Please post a photo of the joystick and its connections.
