firewalker upgrade

so i came up with an idea to mash the tron hoodie project with the firewalker project. i dont want to use the leds or neopixels, just EL Tape and panels, and also the velostat, FLORA and the conductive thread. im new to this but the idea is burning in my head. how would i go about expanding the firewalker idea from just the shoes, to an entire outfit running on just two FLORA boards?

You could trigger additional lighting effects from the same velostat, or from another sensor such as the accelerometer as in this project: http://learn.adafruit.com/sparkle-skirt/overview

Triggering EL wire/tape instead of pixels is going to require a bit more circuitry since you need to go through an inverter. You could have multiple inverters and control power to them via transistors. Or you could look into something like the Sparkfun El Escudo shield: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10878
