You're referring to getting retrogame loaded onto your Pi?
You can open the web browser on your pi, navigate to the tutorial page, and download the file.

Where do I download it to? And uncompressed to?

It doesn't really matter where it goes - it's not an executable file. Make yourself a "Projects" folder on the Desktop. Download and uncompress it there.

Or try this from the command line:
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
wget https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-Retrogame/archive/master.zip
unzip master.zip

This will create a folder containing the retrogame utility and source code.

"Some kind of error" means there's " some kind of problem". Specific error messages refer to specific problems.

What's the exact error message?
When you void a product warranty, you give up your right to sue the manufacturer if something goes wrong and accept full responsibility for whatever happens next. And then you truly own the product.
