Peltier heatsink.

Post by gordiegii »

Does Adafruit buy these Peltier with Heatsink (https://www.adafruit.com/products/1335) complete or assemble them in-house? Are the heatsinks available seperately?
I want to put a second heatsink (well actually a heatsource) on the cold side, and of course these heatsinks have the matching holes already in them.
Is the plate glued to the Peltier module?

Gordie.

These come to us assembled. We do not have the heatsinks available separately.

Can you tell me the temperature differential at 12volts? In the video Lady Ada says 30 Celsius but the way she says it make me think it was an example rather than a spec from the datasheet for this device.

We do not have a formal spec from the manufacturer. Typical T-Max (@0 watts) for this class of device is about 70C. The delta-T in actual use will be inversely proportional to the watts transferred.
