Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this, my project sort of falls in a few categories so I thought I'd put it in here. I've only just started on my project so I am still pretty green on the techical side of things, which is why i'm asking here :)
What I am trying to accomplish is to use 72 LEDs to build a digital but analogue clock.,
I originally thought that I'd have to use a Raspberry PI to Charlieplex them all.
But then someone pointed me to the Neo Pixels http://www.adafruit.com/products/1260 and said they might be able to do what I need, but I was wondering if either http://www.adafruit.com/products/1689 or this https://www.adafruit.com/products/659 would be able to handle the lights control for 72 pixels and have them function like a clock?
Are they that flexible and would it be somewhat doable?
I hope this can do what I'm trying to accomplish, if it does believe me I am making an order :D
What controller for a Clock

I think the Flora would be a good choice there. It can handle up to a few hundred neopixels.
One thing to consider for a clock project is adding a real-time clock module for better precision. The clocks built into most microcontrollers are not designed for long-term precision timekeeping and have a tendency to drift. The DS1307 is a good basic RTC module. The Chronodot is temperature compensated for even better long-term precision.

Hello,
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly that is great to hear!! That sounds really good, I'll gather them all up and start reading up on how to get them all to get to work together. Lots of learning to do but I think my project will really be worth it :)
Thanks a bundle! Your quick and useful reply gives me faith in your products!
