Hi guys,
i have a project where i need to build an BANNED that can open it's lid either through the wave of a hand or by touching.
The lid is fairly light. These are the electronic components i think i might need besides the mechanical ones, please help if i'm forgetting something.
A toggle motion or capacitive touch sensor, a high torque servo, batteries(AA), and a controller to control the servo.
I plan on buying these parts asap to meet my project deadline so please advise me on parts numbers/names etc.
sincerely, jalloor.

Re: Electronically controlled BANNED
It will probably be easier to make a touch sensor work than to identify a hand-wave, though the capacitive sensors can also work as proximity sensors under the right conditions. For the kind of system you're making, the momentary sensor would probably be easiest to use:

I'm not sure a servo running from AA cells will have enough power to lift a box lid, but that's something you'll have to test on your own.
You will need some kind of controller to run the servo, but a Trinket or Gemma will work. To see how, and to get a list of parts necessary, see this tutorial:
