Hi There
I have a few questions in regard to Cupcade which I hope customer support can answer:
I am in interested in purchasing the Cupcade, but I would like to know:
1. When will the Raspberry Pi Model B+ be compatible with the Cupcade? Any time frame?
2. What is the latest software release for the Cupcade and release notes?
3. Where do you get the latest software updates for the Cupcade from?
4. Besides the Cupcade kit, I understand the Raspberry Pi Model B needs to be purchased as a separate item as a minimum to get the Cupcade working for MAME. Is that correct?
5. Is there a forum dedicated to Cupcade updated.
6. Is there any other hardware updated planned for the Cupcade in the near future? And what are they?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Regards
D.

No plans at the moment, as long as the Model B is still in production.1. When will the Raspberry Pi Model B+ be compatible with the Cupcade? Any time frame?
The current release is always linked in the project guide:2. What is the latest software release for the Cupcade and release notes?
3. Where do you get the latest software updates for the Cupcade from?

There's no specific release notes document, but a lot of stuff is summarized on the Details & Errata page:
https://learn.adafruit.com/cupcade-rasp ... ware-setup
Also requires soldering paraphernalia and some MAME ROMs.4. Besides the Cupcade kit, I understand the Raspberry Pi Model B needs to be purchased as a separate item as a minimum to get the Cupcade working for MAME. Is that correct?
Nope, but we watch all the forums and try to help with troubleshooting, and some folks have posted about their modifications; forum search turns up stuff.5. Is there a forum dedicated to Cupcade updated.
Not currently; I'd say the design is pretty stable at this point...maybe we'll revisit in the future but there's no immediate plans.6. Is there any other hardware updated planned for the Cupcade in the near future? And what are they?

Re: Cupcade Questions - New user
I tried to install my Cupcade Kit: RPi B model, 2,5" PiTFT, Interface Board, and a 3rd party Analog 2-axis Thumb Joystick with Select Button, and with 4 Adafruit buttons.
The Cupcade ROM is running without the Interface Board perfectly.
But I have a problem with the Interface Board, the RPi can't boot, stopped with white screen on PiTFT.
I measured the pins of Interface Board, the VCC+ is correct. The X and the Y potmeters are connect to connected to each other and to VCC+, and the other half pins to RX(Xout) and RY(Yout) connectors. The selector is connect to "Sel" connector.
How can I debug it? Thank you for your help!

Can we get a good front and back view of that joystick board?
The outer legs of the pots should connect to VCC and GND, centers to XOUT and YOUT.

SOLVED! :D Thank you! It's working. I was engraved the panel with separation of overgrown feets, and wired to GND. :)pburgess wrote:Can we get a good front and back view of that joystick board?
