I am making a portable emulator thingy, and I would like to know if the 2.8" TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi is compatible with RetroPie, I have heard that it doesn't work at all from here but, that leads me to here which is a project that allows OpenGL, "but the performance may be slow". I would like to know if the performance is utterly unbearable, or if it is just a slight lag. If it is too laggy, should I just get a 5" touchscreen, or would the lag be worse?
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: 2.8" TFT+Touchscreen for Raspberry Pi
The 2.8" PiTFT isn't compatible with Retropie 'out of the box,' as that display doesn't use HDMI. The framebuffer-copying thing is hacky and slow.
There would be zero lag with the 5" touchscreen since it uses HDMI -- it's as good as a "real" monitor because it is one. There are some settings in the /boot/config.txt file to make proper use of that display's resolution...this is documented in the Learning System guide for that product.
