I have received my purchase: Adafruit USB Power Gauge Mini-Kit[ID:1549]
When I connect the power gauge, it draws power but does not supply it, I suspect a short circuit.
When it is plugged in, none of the lights light up.
I was clean with the soldering job, see attached photo.
Is this a faulty device?
Thanks.

Re: Adafruit USB Power Gauge Mini-Kit[ID:1549]
I am having similar problems with my unit:
While I was troubleshooting, I did notice that if the USB pins are close to the PCB, the housing connection at the pad and solder joint was really close to the 5V Pin. I did not have a short there, but I could see if there was a lot of solder on the housing pad, and the connector was angled such that the pins were close to the PCB that a short could be introduced.
On my unit there seems to be an intermittent connection in the plug side, on the 5V pin. If I move the connector just right, it seems to work for a few seconds and then it turns off again. If I apply 5 volts directly to the USB connector pin between the solder joint and the connector housing, it seems to run OK.

Post a photo of the board and the solder joints and we'll take a look.
