Pov Project-Plz

Post by bluesky0 »

i buy 144 dotstar for a POV globe project. i use 11A 5V battery to power the Strip, and a 9V battery to power Arduino Due which control the Strip. But the Leds rather flecking or does not work at all.

Data pin connected to pin 75 in Arduino Due
Clk pin connected to pin 76 in Arduino Due

do i need one power source for both the board and Leds?

or its a fault in my Strip

From the product page:
You must use a 5V DC power supply to power these strips, do not use higher than 6V or you can destroy the entire strip

Post a photo of your hardware and connections and we'll take a look.

Is there a ground connection between the LEDs and microcontroller?

Did you connect the ground from the 9V and the ground from the 5V together?
