I installed Neopixels in my buddy's car that react to sound based on the "Sound-Reactive LED Color Organ" project
https://learn.adafruit.com/trinket-soun ... olor-organ
His car engine is to loud and interferes with the sound reaction.
Can I splice into the speakers wire and bypass the mic to avoid the engine noise? How? What do i need in place of the mic? Will this option slow the sound reaction time?

Don't connect the speaker wires to the analog input. You'll blow out the microprocessor. You need a line-level signal. Is there a line-out on the sound system?

So basically hook up the wires to the phone jack output on the audio device instead of having it run to the small mic, right?

Thank you for your reply!
I'm working on a miniature 3.6V 1/25 scale Sonic Color bar that were very popular in the '70's attached under the dash cruising the boulevard.
This version I soldered my own circuit board but I recently bought the trinket to see if it can be improved. I use the smallest leds avialable.
