PowerBoost 1000C Power Issues

Post by BinEP »

I have been having trouble with my PowerBoost 1000c that I'm using for the pocket PiGrrl. Sometimes it will stop working. No lights will be showing and no power goes to the screen or pi or anything. I can get it working again temporarily by unplugging the battery (inconvenient) or plugging in a USB to the PowerBoost. I have seen other topics on this.

I purchased the PowerBoost about a month and a half ago. Order Number is 795921-1090758949

Thanks for any help

Post a photo showing your hardware and connections and we'll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.

Here are some photos. Sorry I can't show more. I can't really undo some of the wiring in the case. Would be very difficult to get back.

Thank you.. the last photo is excellent.

It sounds like you might be getting intermittent contact between the EN pin and GND. Next time it cuts out, try shorting the EN pin to the LiPo pin and see if that brings it back to life.

That didn't work. When it is off and has the red light, shorting them together turns the whole thing off and the red light goes away. What does this mean?

That probably means you have a short to GND on the EN pin.

The EN pin itself shouldn't be able to do that. Double-check your switch, and look to see if anything is shorting the EN and GND pins together under the PCB.
