hello. I just discovered adafruit and I love it. I am new the the electronic and lighting world. I build custom headlights and taillights for cars/trucks. I think it would be great to put a led matrix in taillights, being able to use them as regular tail light functions and then have a show mode running a program. is their anyone that can help me or point me in the right direction to make this happen??
thank you so much
led matrix for taillights??

This guide is a good place to start: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-neopixel-uberguide.
That should give you an idea of what it takes to wire up and control them.
Since these are 5v devices, you will need something like a 12v->5v voltage coonverter. There are many of these available designed for automotive audio systems.
